Could Rey Mysterio Be Turning Heel?

We noted earlier this week how WWE is planning on putting the Tag Team Titles on Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara so they can build to a WrestleMania 29 match between the two. In an update, there has been at least some talk of making Rey Mysterio the heel while Sin Cara works as the babyface. With that said, some believe it would be a very bad idea for Mysterio to turn heel.

WWE's Plans Revealed for Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara

WWE has put Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara together to build to a WrestleMania 29 match. You may remember that WWE wanted to do Mysterio vs. Cara at WrestleMania 28 but both of them got injured. WWE was planning to give out luchador masks to everyone in attendance at WrestleMania 28 and then have them wear the masks before the Cara-Mysterio bout so they could set the Guinness World Record for most masks worn in one place at the same time. This is what WWE is building to for WrestleMania 29.

Sin Cara Ready For Return To WWE Ring

Sin Cara will be returning to action on WWE's upcoming tour of Mexico. An announcement was made on on the April 30th episode of RAW that aired in Mexico. During a recent media interview promoting his return, Sin Cara said he expects things to go a lot better for him in WWE this time around.

Sin Cara Has Successful Knee Surgery Out 6-9 Months

Sin Cara's brother, wrestler Argos, confirmed on Facebook that the WWE Superstar had knee surgery in Houston, Texas on Tuesday after surgery was pushed back from Monday. Argos noted that the surgery went well.


Sin Cara is expected to miss 6-9 months of action.

Who Is The Real Sin Cara?

WWE's website now has profiles up for both Sin Caras - the original Sin Cara in blue, and the new Sin Cara in black. WWE is teasing a rematch between the two, adding that their match at Hell in a Cell was so closely contested.

WWE has made references to the black Sin Cara being upset about the blue Sin Cara stealing his identity as Mistico in the past while both were in Mexico. Before Mistico (blue Sin Cara) debuted in Mexico, Hunico (black Sin Cara) wrestled as Mistico. The story goes that the CMLL promotion won the rights to the name Mistico in 2005, forcing Hunico to change his name to Mystico.

Who Will Be Under The Mask Of Sin Cara?

The latest word on the Sin Cara character is that it indeed will be FCW star Hunico wrestling under the mask at tonight's SmackDown tapings. The original Sin Cara will return once his suspension is over and a feud with Hunico may end up happening on WWE TV.

WWE announced Monday morning that Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, who performs as Sin Cara, has been suspended for 30 days due to his first violation of the organization's Talent Wellness Program.

CMLL Owner Has Harsh Words For Sin Cara

When Cara signed with WWE, he went to CMLL owner Paco Alonso and to thank him for giving him his break, Cara said he would request from WWE a few dates per year to work for CMLL out of loyalty. Paco told Cara that you're either with him or against him, and had no interest in Cara working dates for CMLL while he's signed with WWE. As noted earlier this week, CMLL trademarked the name Sin Cara for use in Mexico since WWE forgot to, which means the WWE cannot use the name when they do tours in the country.

WWE Looking To Set NEW World Record For Wrestling Masks

After the Los Angeles Angels received publicity for setting a Guinness world record on May 10 for most costume masks worn at a single gathering, WWE discussed taking a stab at the record next year at WrestleMania XXVIII.

Company officials have discussed holding a singles match between Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara at the event. Should it occur, it will be the match where WWE aims for the record.

In a thrilling night of television, all WWE Superstars and Divas, including WWE Champion The Miz, John Cena, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio and Sin Cara along with WWE Divas Champion Brie Bella, Eve and Kelly Kelly could be drafted to either RAW or SmackDown.

After Monday Night’s momentous draft, John Cena could be on “Friday Night Smackdown,” which airs each week on Syfy at 8/7c and Rey Mysterio could be coming to MONDAY NIGHT RAW.

The Annual WWE Draft is a chance to renew old rivalries or have WWE Superstars face off against each other for the very first time, bringing a new and fresh feel to each show.
