Jimmy Fallon and Adam Sandler Debut Social Distancing Song: 'Don't Touch Grandma' #MMBCovid

Jimmy Fallon and Adam Sandler know a thing or two about comedic relief, so they’ve turned to lighthearted humor to explain the importance of keeping grandma safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

The host and the comedian debuted a sing-songy duet titled “Don’t Touch Grandma” during the latest at-home episode of “The Tonight Show.”

As the title indicates, the song urges folks to practice social distancing around anyone over 60 to help prevent the spread of the novel virus.

The CDC warns that older adults and those with underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

At the start of the song, recorded from the comfort of their homes, Sandler sings that in light of the coronavirus pandemic there are “new grandma rules.”

“Don’t touch grandma, leave her alone / You can spend a quarter to call her on the phone,” the duo harmonize.

Fallon sings about how grandmas love to pinch your cheeks, kiss and hug, before adding, “but I don’t want my grandma to catch any superbug.”

Sandler reinforces the sentiment by singing, “you must tell grandma ‘no touchie, just lookie.’”

“When this thing is over, you and she can play / But for now, you still can smell her grandma smell from 6 feet away,” the song concludes.

Sandler has been keeping busy during his quarantine by writing fun tunes to spread some joy during these tough and uncertain times.

Last week, he performed a song on Fallon’s show that showed appreciation to the nurses and doctors working bravely on the front line.
