WATCH: Ichiro collects 4,000th hit #Yankees

In the first inning of Wednesday night's Blue Jays-Yankees game, Yanks outfielder Ichiro Suzuki grounded a single through the the left side and in doing so notched his 4,000th career hit across the U.S. and Japanese major leagues.

Ichiro, of course, joins Pete Rose and Ty Cobb as the lone players to achieve the feat, although Rose and Cobb compiled all of their hits in the U.S. major leagues.
Coming into Wednesday night's game, the 39-year-old Ichiro was batting .274/.308/.362 on the season with 18 steals in 21 attempts.
Coincidentally, the hit you see above was Ichiro's 2,722nd of his MLB career, which moved him past Lou Gehrig and into 59th place on the all-time list.
