Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith Held An Intervention For Son Jaden's Health #MMBRadio

Will Smith and Jada Pinkettt Smith said their son Jaden Smith's drastic weight loss called for an "intervention."

The married couple spoke candidly of approaching their son about their concern for his health during Monday’s episode (September 23) of Jada’s Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk. As the pair explained, they became worried when they realized the 21-year-old rapper, whom they assumed was vegan, had started developing dark circles under his eyes and became noticeably thinner.

“Will and I had a bit of an intervention with Jaden because he’s a vegan now, but we realized he wasn’t getting enough protein,” the Gotham actress said on the show. “He was wasting away. He just looked drained. He was just depleted. He wasn’t getting the nutrients.” The Gemini Man actor also expressed his own concerns for Jaden’s health, adding, “There was even grayness to his skin. We got really nervous.”

However, to clarify his diet in more detail, Jaden corrected that he is not vegan but vegetarian. “I also just wanna say that I’m vegetarian. I’ve tried to be vegan,” the "Icon" emcee told his parents. “I’ll go vegan for a week or so, but for the past year, I’ve been vegetarian.”

“I was just eating, like, two meals a day … maybe one. Maybe just that one big meal, and I’m like, ‘Oh, you know, I didn’t get around to it,’” he explained, to which Will replied encouragingly, "You're definitely looking better now."

Thankfully, whatever changes Jaden has made to his diet seems to have put his mom and dad's worries at ease.
